The National Archives will host its annual free screenings of a variety of Oscar nominated films at its William G. McGowan Theater starting Feb. 20. Scheduled screenings include nominated films in the best animated short film, documentary short subject, live action short film and documentary feature categories. Acclaimed movie critic Willie Waffle will play host during the films nominated for best documentary feature. Tickets for the event will be distributed at the National Archives entrance on Constitution Avenue one hour prior to the starting time of each film. Seating is served on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more than 20 years, the DC Film Society has hosted the biggest Oscar viewing party in the entire DC metro area. Stop by the Arlington Cinema N’ Drafthouse where you will find the awards show broadcasted live on the big screen plus fun games, exciting door prizes, tasty food and drinks and a silent auction. Arrive early and discuss all the latest fashion hits (and misses), play a trivia game or sign up for the “Predict the Winners” contest. The event will also host a fundraiser to help support Filmfest DC, the DC Film Society’s parent organization.
