WASHINGTON — This offseason, the Washington Capitals invested in T.J. Oshie, giving him an eight-year, $46 million deal. Now, he has turned around and invested in real estate, purchasing a McLean home for $5.2 million.

The Washington Business Journal reported the transaction on Tuesday, on a deal that closed last week. The home was only listed in October and had several offers before the owner selected the Oshies.

“I think they’ll find the house and the neighborhood great for their family when they move in,” owner and real estate executive Ray Richey told WBJ. “They’re a fantastic couple that have been terrific to work with through the process.”

The home is located on Langley Lane in McLean and sprawls more than 7,500 square feet on three levels. With five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, it has room for Oshie, his wife and kids, to grow.

The family also has a house in Minnesota, which was in construction at the time when Oshie was traded to the Capitals.

It was a busy week last week for Oshie’s family, which was also in the news for dressing as President Donald and First Lady Melania Trump:

While the Capitals’ corner of the Internet was deciding whether or not to be offended by two cute kids dressed up for Halloween, the Oshies had already moved on to buying a home.
