WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman (rib) would have started on Sunday if he was able.

But he was not, and so he missed his first game as a Redskin, and his first game since becoming a full-time starter in 2015.

He did not practice at all this week and was ruled out on the team’s official injury report. But he made it clear in an Instagram post to fans that the news was still disappointing when the team announced its inactive players on Sunday morning.

“This a tough one for me. Haven’t missed a game since I’ve started for quit sometime played through all injures & adversity,” he wrote. “But this one sat me on my butt. I’m a bit down and bummed about it. But my guys are about to show there tails!

“In this game today have all the faith in the world in there preparation & God given ability. No one is more proud of these guys than I am watch us WORK💪🏽TODAY #HTTR 🏹”

Norman’s production in the lineup was replaced, in part, by Quentin Dunbar, the former receiver who has transitioned nicely to the defensive side of the ball. 106.7 The Fan’s beat reporter Craig Hoffman interviewed him, which can be heard below:
