WASHINGTON — The Nationals won an amazing Game 4 in Chicago Wednesday night, thanks to a stellar effort from Stephen Strasburg and the first grand slam in Nationals postseason history, courtesy of Michael A. Taylor.

Now, as the Nationals and Cubs head to Game 5 in Washington, the Nationals are bringing back a former fan favorite to kick things off.

Michael Morse! One of the most popular players to don a Nationals uniform, Morse will in all likelihood receive a thunderous ovation upon his arrival to the mound. That is, if another sound doesn’t drown out the cheers.

Reminder: The Nats employed a similar tactic back in 2016, when they brought Adam LaRoche and his son Drake out to throw the first pitch.

That paid off, as the Nationals went on to take Game 2 from the Los Angeles Dodgers that day.

Will that work for Washington this time around? Tune in next time, sports fans.
