WASHINGTON — Stephen Strasburg will get the start for the Nationals Sunday. The team announced the move last night.

Strasburg hasn’t pitched since June 15, when he struck out eight and allowed six hits and one earned running in 7.0 innings. He has a 10-0 record and a 2.90 ERA, but he’s coming off a stint on the Disabled List after suffering from an upper back strain.

Much debate persisted over the past week or so over whether Strasburg would return or rookie phenom Lucas Giolito would get a shot at another start. Giolito had an impressive major league debut, pitching four scoreless innings before a rainstorm ended his outing early.

At time of posting, it had not been announced whether or not Giolito would be sent back down to the minor leagues.

This post will be updated if anything changes before the 1:35 p.m. start of Sunday’s game.
