WASHINGTON — Bryce Harper grew up in Las Vegas, and as a result, he had to find non-local sports teams to root for.
He’s a noted fan of the New York Yankees, much to the chagrin of Nationals fans, in addition to every bandwagon team. One of those teams, of course, is the Dallas Cowboys.
Harper drew the ire of Redskins fans in 2014 by posing for pictures in a Cowboys hat — in the National Zoo, no less.
Perhaps inspired by the surprising success the Redskins had this season, Harper appears to have switched his allegiances.
Pictured with reigning NBA MVP and noted Carolina Panthers fan Steph Curry, the reigning NL MVP rocked a Redskins hat to the Super Bowl Sunday.
It’s not the first time Harper has shown a fondness for the local football team; he wore one of Kirk Cousins’ “You Like That” shirts to work out recently.
Much like any time local basketball star, and current member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant wears Redskins apparel, speculation quickly arose about whether the fandom shows a desire to be in Washington. (Both Durant and Harper will be free agents in the near future.)
