WASHINGTON — Super Bowl week can create interesting cross sections of pop culture. Based on the photos coming out of San Francisco this week, Super Bowl 50 is no exception.

The Washington Redskins social media team captured one such moment, as rap and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg rubbed elbows with legendary Redskins quarterback Mark Rypien.

Why are Snoop and Ryp’ a fun odd couple? Here is the No. 1 reason:

One played for eight NFL teams; the other has claimed half the league as his “favorite team.”

Mark Rypien had a fantastic run with the Redskins, quarterbacking one of the most complete teams in NFL history. After leaving Washington in 1994, he played for another eight teams, finally finishing his career with the Rochester Raiders in the Continental Indoor Football League.

Snoop Dogg has been documented attending training camp or games, wearing jerseys or taking to social media to declare his allegiance to countless teams over time.
