WASHINGTON — A Lanham man was killed in a head-on crash in Laurel Thursday, police say.

Just before 1 p.m., Prince George’s County police responded to the intersection of Laurel Bowie Road and Loblolly Pine Drive for the report of a crash. 66-year-old Charles Fletcher was driving one of the cars and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminary investigation reveals Fletcher was heading northbound on Laurel Bowie Road and the second car was heading southbound. For reasons which are under investigation, the second car crossed the center lines and struck Fletcher’s car head on.

Police say the second driver and her passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
