Washington DC (CBS DC)– CollegeHumor and the White House have teamed up for a PSA to discuss the topic of sexual assault on women.
The video features actors Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and David Walton from “New Girl,” as well as Rob Riggle from “21 Jump Street.” In the PSA, the men are all together watching a sporting event when Riggle goes to refill his beer.
While going to get the beer, he notices a random bear outside the door. The bear tries to come in the house to attack them, while the gentlemen make multiple references to a 1-in-5 statistic.
The meaning behind the 1-in-5 stat happens to the number of women that are sexually assaulted by the time they finish college.
“I don’t know what to do about it, so I just ignore it,” one of the characters yells in the video, a reference to what many women might say after being sexually assaulted.
One of the friends responds back with, “The bear’s not going to eat all of us, it’ll be less than a quarter of us!”
While the topic is anything but humorous, both the White House and CollegeHumor wanted the PSA to be an outlet for shedding light on the issue.
