WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – He’s had a Twitter account since April 2009, but until today, President Obama was one of the few Americans who don’t have a Facebook page.

That’s all changed with the announcement from the White House that Obama’s official Facebook page is live.

The first post is a video of the president touring the White House grounds, what he calls his backyard for the past seven years.

During his walk, the president talks about the need for environmental conservation so generations to come can enjoy the beauty of nature.

Other postings on his timeline mark his first and second inaugurations and his election to the Senate.
