WASHINGTON — It’s getting hairy in Laurel as the city’s police officers ditch their razors for “No Shave November.”
They’ll be trying to raise as much money as possible for the ZERO Grow and Give campaign to fight prostate cancer.
Chief Richard McLaughlin has tossed out the dress code for the month, and he and the other officers won’t touch their beards until December.
The LPD will also participate in a friendly competition with the Ozaukee Wisconsin Sheriff’s Office to see who can raise more money.
The loser will have to send the winner a sampling of local favorites — crab cakes and cheese curds respectively.
