WASHINGTON — A former State Department official has been sentenced to 32 months in prison for secretly filming hundreds of videos of women inside their Washington homes.

Forty-five-year-old Daniel Rosen was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to a dozen charges of voyeurism and stalking.

Prosecutors say Rosen recorded as many as 25 women who lived in basement-level apartments. Videos show the victims in their bathrooms and bedrooms, having sex, performing personal hygiene and engaging in other private moments between 2010 and 2014. Some victims had their blinds or curtains closed, but Rosen angled his cell phone between the cracks or small openings to record video.

Rosen apologized for his crimes during the hearing. He previously worked as a counterterrorism official at the State Department.
