WASHINGTON (CBS DC) — Taking aim at fellow Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Twitter, Donald Trump continued his outspoken ways Sunday by criticizing his competitor’s brother and former president, George W. Bush.

First, Trump suggested the former Florida governor “stop trying to defend his brother” and instead “focus on his own shortcomings and how to fix them.”

About an hour later, Trump swung once more, this time firing off a tweet that ripped the former president for the Iraq war.

“Why did your brother attack and destabilize the Middle East by attacking Iraq when there were no weapons of mass destruction? Bad info?” he wrote.

The criticism comes days after Trump threw a barb at President Bush during an interview with Bloomberg Television.

“When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want. The World Trade Center came down during his time,” he said.

Jeb Bush had responded by calling Trump “pathetic” over Twitter and said that his brother had “kept us safe.”
