WASHINGTON — One man is dead and another is wounded following a double shooting in Bladensburg.

Bladensburg Police officers responded to the 5600 block of Mary A Court, located near Elizabeth Seton and Bladensburg high schools, for the report of gunfire just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say officers performed CPR while waiting for EMS crews. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 23-year-old Antione Jajuan Freeman, of Landover Hills.

Another officer responding to the 5000 block of 57th Avenue for a report of a second gunshot victim, followed a vehicle driving erratically from the area to a local hospital. Police say the vehicle was transporting a second adult male victim. Police say he is currently being treated for gunshot wounds.

He is currently listed in stable condition.

Police say both gunshot victims are believed to have been wounded in the same incident.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has taken the lead on the investigation and are working to establish a suspect and motive in this case.
