WASHINGTON — The driver of a tractor trailer is dead after the truck fell from a Capital Beltway overpass onto the Suitland Parkway, authorities say.
Maryland State Police say the driver lost control on the outer loop of the beltway early Friday. The truck, carrying paper products, crashed through a guardrail and landed on the Suitland Parkway below.

The eastbound lanes of the Suitland Parkway were closed between Forestville Road and Route 4. The roadway was reopened around 4:15 p.m.
