ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A man was shot and killed Wednesday night in Alexandria, marking the city’s second homicide of the year.
Alexandria Police say the victim is 37-year-old Leon Williams of Alexandria.
The shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. on Belle Pre Way. Officers found Williams suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
WNEW’s Chuck Carroll spoke with a couple who was sitting just outside an apartment complex when the shots rang out.
“There was one shot fired into the car where I was sitting on the passenger side,” he said.
Neither him or his fiancee were hurt, but they say they are frightened.
“Very shaken up. I’m not good I can’t go back into my own apartment right now,” the man told Carroll.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Sergeant David Cutting with the Alexandria Police Department at (703) 746-6627.
