WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the driver of a car they say struck and killed a man in Oxon Hill, and fled the scene.
Prince George’s County Police responded to the 6600 block of Livingston Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found 60-year-old James Arthur Sanders in the roadway suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
Preliminary investigation reveals Sanders was standing in the roadway when he was hit by a car heading northbound on Livingston Road. Police say Sanders was not in a crosswalk and the driver did not stop.
The striking car is described as a gray or white Ford Mustang with a racing stripe, possibly with front end damage. Investigators would like to talk to anyone who witnessed or has any information on this case.
