REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WNEW/AP) — Baltimore County police say a man fatally shot by an officer was unarmed but aggressive and didn’t follow commands to stop.
Police say the man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Reisterstown during a confrontation at a pharmacy where he’d tried to obtain narcotic cough syrup with a forged prescription.
Police said Thursday that video footage from nearby businesses shows the man aggressively approaching an officer before reaching around his back, then abruptly swinging his arm forward — at which point the officer fired. Police declined to release the footage Thursday.
He has been identified as 19-year-old Keith Harrison McLeod, of Northeast, D.C.
Police say McLeod was shot three times and that no weapon was found at the scene.
