WASHINGTON — A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with raping multiple women in Baltimore over the past two years.
Michael Privette of Baltimore was arrested on Sept. 2 and has been charged with rape, kidnapping and various sex offense and assault charges.
Baltimore police say the first incident happened on July 27, 2013. A 47-year-old woman was sexually assaulted inside of an unlicensed taxi cab in the 900 block of Dukeland St.
A few days later on Aug. 5 a 17-year-old girl was sitting at a bus stop at the intersection of Baltimore and Hilton St. when police say Privette approached her and grabbed her around her neck. She was assaulted in an alley before the suspect fled from the scene.
About two years later on Aug. 19, 2015, a woman was jogging when she was grabbed and forced into a car in the 100 block of West Lafayette Ave. Police say the suspect was armed with a handgun and drove the victim around before physically threatening and sexually assaulting her.
On Aug. 31, 2015, a 26-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop in the 2800 block of Frederick Ave. when police say Privette approached her with a knife and ordered her to walk to the rear of that location. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim.
Police say Privette was connected to these cases based on their similarities and DNA comparisons.
He is currently being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility on a no bail status.
