BALTIMORE — A seven-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department was found dead Tuesday in the Inner Harbor.

The department says 34-year-old Officer Prashat Davis was found laying facing down in the water between a boat and the dock.

Police say around 11:50 p.m. they came to the 500 block of Harborview Drive to check on his well-being when they found him.

Davis lived in a boat in that area and his death appears to be accidental. He was not on duty at the time.

“This is a very sad day for the men and women of the Baltimore Police Department,” said Interim Commissioner Kevin Davis. “On behalf of the entire agency, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Officer Prashat Davis.”

Davis was an active member of the Baltimore Police Department assigned to the Northern District.

This is a developing story.
