AURORA HIGHLANDS, Va. — Arlington County Police executed a search warrant Thursday on a home related to a five-month-old unsolved murder.

The home in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood belongs to David Black, the estranged husband of 42-year-old Bonnie Black. She was found dead in her home a few blocks away in April.

Court records indicate Bonnie Black was nearing the end of a divorce with David Black. Police said they had been called to the home previously for reported domestic violence and were exploring whether that was connected to Black’s death.

Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck says David Black has been a person of interest in the case since the beginning, but adds he has not been arrested and is cooperating.

“We wanted to come back into David Black’s home,” Sternbeck says. “He did remain on scene here for a couple hours when we initially arrived, however he was free to go at any time and he chose to do so.”

Some items seen being removed include documents and bicycles.
