WASHINGTON — A woman is seriously injured after a small plane she was flying crashed in Bristow, Virginia Sunday morning.
The Manassas Volunteer Fire Department says the woman was flown to a hospital for treatment.
The single engine plane went down behind a house around 9:07 a.m. Police say the pilot of the small plane struck the trees and fell into a yard on the 9400 block of Upper Mill Loop.
No one else was injured and there was no one else in the plane.
Authorities have not said what type of injuries the woman sustained.
WNEW’s PJ Elliott reports she was a student at Dulles Aviation and was practicing making approaches at Manassas Regional Airport before the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
