WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Kelly Osbourne, who was guest co-hosting on “The View,” is in hot water after she accidentally made an offensive stereotype in the process of going after Donald Trump for his racist commentary on illegal immigrants.
The panel on “The View” was discussing the presidential hopeful and his offensive remarks in regard to immigration and his campaign.
“In what way does he think that people are going to vote for him after he’s just called them rapists and murderers?” Osbourne asks.
“There are a lot of Latinos here in this country that do agree that the immigration problem is a problem and it does need to be addressed and it does need to be fixed. But making those comments — those racist comments — does not help,” co-host Rosie Perez noted.
“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?” Osbourne said. “In the sense that… you know what I mean?”
Osbourne fumbles over her words a bit as the other co-hosts look at her and try to clarify her remarks.
“Latinos are not only….” Perez said, as Osbourne cut her off and said, “No, I didn’t mean it like that! Come on! I would never mean it like that! I’m not part of this argument.”
Though Osbourne tried to clarify that she didn’t mean the comments to be offensive, a social media firestorm has already begun with many criticizing the commentary.
Trump has faced broad criticism and lost several business ventures after he made remarks in late June referring to Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “criminals.”
