WASHINGTON — A Bladensburg police officer is injured after a suspect avoiding arrest pinned him against a vehicle, police say.
The Prince George’s County Police Department says around 12:30 a.m. Officer Luciotti responded to a domestic assault in the 4300 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Bladensburg, Maryland.
While resisting arrest, a man fled in an automobile and pinned the officer against a parked vehicle.
Police say the officer fired his gun in self defense. The suspect was found and transported to the hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has been placed on administrative leave. The status of his condition has not been released.
Police are investigating.
