WASHINGTON — Superstitious Nationals fans traveling to tonight’s game at in Atlanta should arrive early if they want a repeat of last night’s 6-1 domination of the rival Braves. And have their smartphones ready for Bryce Harper.

Last night, Harper visited a cluster of Nationals faithful before the game, grabbing one fan’s phone and posing for an expertly-aligned group selfie (what some are now calling an “usie”).

Instagram user @callie.smithh posted the photo with a caption: “IN LOVE W/ BRYCE…,” followed by: “THIS JUST HAPPENED.”

Life. Made. Even the lighting is good in this candid shot:

While Callie (middle, smiling) looks thrilled to be in the picture, it is also evident that two Braves fans and a lurking Red Sox fan were eager to achieve selfie/usie immortality. Sadly, only the Braves fan in the back is identifiable.

Fan loyalty can be so fleeting.

Harper, who currently leads the National League All-Star vote by more than 3 million votes, has taken digital fan interaction to a new level. On June 2, Harper grabbed the phone of Jamie Roach and took a true selfie with his back to the field.

He also continues to produce while having fun, going 2-for-5 last night and leading the team in average (.340) by 32 points. He still leads all of baseball in slugging (.713), OPS (1.177) and OPS+ (220) and should be a featured attraction at the upcoming All-Star Game.

When will Harper strike a selfie again? It’s hard to predict; but with the way he’s playing, it’s worth having your camera phone ready anyway.
