WASHINGTON — A rare hammerhead shark that appears to be injured from ramming boats was spotted off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland Wednesday.
Maryland Natural Resources Police tweeted that officers and biologists are currently evaluating condition of the scalloped hammerhead shark. It is estimated to be weigh 300 pounds and 8 feet long.
Police add that the shark is injured from ramming boats.
