WASHINGTON — A Baltimore woman has raised more than $40,000 via a GoFundMe page that she set up to further decorate her home and yard after she says she got a disapproving note about its flamboyance from a neighbor.

Julie Brown says she opened her door to find a note saying that her yard is “relentlessly gay” and asking her to tone it down because of the Christians and children in the Overlea neighborhood.

In response, Brown wants to make her yard even more “relentlessly gay.” Her goal was to raise $5,000, but she’s raised more than six times that amount in just two days.

“Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children, my youngest in high school and I WILL NOT Relent to Hatred,” Brown writes on the GoFundMe page.

“Instead, I will battle it with whimsy and beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!!!”

“If we go high enough, I will see if I can get a Rainbow Roof!” she adds.
