WASHINGTON (WNEW) – Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker III endorsed Chris Van Hollen for the United States Senate on Wednesday.
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett also reaffirmed his support for Congressman Van Hollen’s campaign.
According to a news release, Van Hollen has received endorsements from Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, the Montgomery County Council and other state legislative officials.
“I’ve known Rushern Baker for over 20 years. We stood side by side in the Statehouse fighting for better schools and stronger gun safety laws, and we continue to fight hard for critical investments for Prince George’s County,” said Congressman Van Hollen.
“Chris Van Hollen is the best Marylander to represent Prince George’s County in the United States Senate as he has a proven track record and the greatest potential of providing every resident of this County with opportunities, resources as well as quick and effective constituent services,” said Baker.
Chris Van Hollen will continue the legacy of Senator Barbara Mikulski of being a tireless fighter and champion for all Marylanders. For Prince George’s County, for Maryland, for America, I endorse Chris Van Hollen for U.S. Senate.”
