MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WNEW) – A former Montgomery County substitute teacher accused of sexually abusing several students has pleaded guilty to some of those charges.
On Wednesday, Jose Pineda, 50, entered a guilty plea for two counts, one for third-degree sex offense and one for sex abuse of a minor, WNEW Senior Correspondent Mark Segraves reports
Pineda was originally charged with 10 counts.
Prosecutors asked the judge to impose five year prison sentence as part of Pineda’s plea deal. He currently faces 35 years.
If the deal is accepted, Pineda, who is not a U.S. citizen, could face deportation back to Honduras.
