WESTMINSTER, Md. — Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster says it’s joining Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health.
The parties said Friday that the merger agreement includes a $250 million investment by LifeBridge in growth and renovation of Carroll Hospital. LifeBridge also will give $50 million to the endowment fund of the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation.
Carroll Hospital President Leslie Simmons tells the Carroll County Times that no one at the facility will be laid off as a result of the merger. Simmons says she expects increased hiring in the future.
Carroll Hospital opened as Carroll County General in 1961.
LifeBridge Health mainly serves patients in northwest Baltimore. It includes Sinai Hospital of Baltimore; Northwest Hospital; Levindale Hebrew and Geriatric Center and Hospital; and their affiliates.
