ARLINGTON, Va. — District of Columbia police have identified a woman whose body was found in the waterway near Reagan National Airport.
Metropolitan Police Department said Tuesday that the body found Saturday is 61 year-old Maria Lydia Cruz of Alexandria, Virginia.
Police say Cruz’s body was pulled from the water near Four Mile Run Stream and the Potomac River around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
She was found unconscious and unresponsive, and was discovered at the edge of the water near the intersection of Four Mile Run Stream and the Potomac River, just below Reagan National Airport.
Cruz was transported to D.C.’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, pending an autopsy and the determination of a cause and manner of death.
The medical examiner will determine how Cruz died. The police department says its homicide unit is in charge of investigating the death.
No arrests have been made.
