ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland’s minimum wage is going up 75 cents.
It rises from $7.25 to $8 on Thursday.
It’s the first of several increases approved by state lawmakers before reaching $10.10 in 2018.
The minimum wage will go up another 25 cents in July. Then, in July of 2016, it will rise to $8.75.
It will increase 50 cents in July 2017 to $9.25 before reaching the top amount in 2018.
Lawmakers approved the incremental increases in the last legislative session.
