GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Police say an off-duty FBI agent shot and killed a large dog that attacked his smaller dog in Glen Burnie as a 4-year-old boy looked on.
Anne Arundel County police say the 4-year-old was out for a walk with his grandmother and her daughter’s 180-pound Great Dane on Friday when they came across the FBI agent, who was walking his 15-pound miniature Schnauzer.
Police say the Great Dane attacked the Schnauzer near a narrow pedestrian footbridge. According to police, the larger dog had the smaller dog in its mouth, and the agent was unable to separate the two dogs. That’s when police say the agent drew his service weapon and shot the Great Dane twice, killing it.
The shooting is under investigation. Police say the FBI is cooperating.
