LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — Two women used stolen credit cards to purchase $8,500 of gift cards at the Target on Bou Avenue in Rockville Dec. 5, according to Montgomery County Police.
Investigators have releasing video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
The 39-year-old owner of the credit cards was eating dinner at a restaurant in the White Flint area of Rockville that day when she received phone calls and text messages from her credit card companies, alerting her to the fact that large purchases were being made on her credit cards.
Police say $4,000 was charged to a Visa card, $4,000 to an American Express card and $530.05 to a MasterCard.
Detectives are still investigating whether the victim’s wallet was lost or stolen.
A surveillance recording shows the two women walking in to the Target store at approximately 7:20 p.m., approaching the check-out at approximately 7:24 p.m., and exiting the store at approximately 7:28 p.m.
