WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — With two games to play in the 2014 regular season, the (3-11) Redskins and (9-5) Eagles couldn’t be experiencing more different fates.
One obvious storyline which will play out through media of both cities in the coming days, as the two teams prepare to square off at FedEx Field on Saturday, is Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson’s second meeting with his former Eagles team.
Jackson, after the Redskins loss to the Giants Sunday, told the Philadelphia Inquirer he doesn’t miss playing for the Eagles one bit. “Nope. I don’t miss the team. I don’t miss the organization,” he said. “There’s no point in living in the past. This is my team. This is where I am for better or worse. Do you live in the past? It’s no way to live.”
“Didn’t you hear? I’m a gangster,” Jackson joked. “I’m in a gang. That’s why I’m gone.
His former teammate, LeSean McCoy, with whom he played five seasons in Philadelphia, has been vocal about Jackson, telling Philly sports radio station WIP on Monday, he an Jackson still occasionally exchange texts. “Yeah, I miss D-Jacc. I mean I played with D-Jacc for 5-6 years so we kind of established a nice relationship,” he said. “I’ll definitely be excited to see him again.”
McCoy appears to have kicked the friendly trash-talking into full gear, however, tweeting this coded Instagram link to Jackson on Tuesday.
It’s not entirely clear what McCoy is saying in the video, but it is a fairly obvious attempt at trolling … probably.
