WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., believes President Barack Obama’s executive actions on immigration will allow Democrats to win every future presidential contest.

Speaking to the “Laura Ingraham Show” on Monday, the retiring Republican lawmaker said Obama “put an insurance policy in the bank” for Democrats.

“What the ruling class just decided is we will have open borders, we will not have any sovereignty over our borders,” Bachmann said. “And it is in effect, the president has just put the insurance policy in the bank so that Democrats in the future will – in all likelihood – win every presidential contest from here on out.”

Bachmann claims that Obama’s executive orders will allow an additional 5 million voters in 2016 to back the Democrats.

“The precedent is set for having an additional – minimum – 5 million new voters in 2016. That’s all this was about,” Bachmann told the “Laura Ingraham Show.” “This is the voter registration drive for the president’s permanent political class of the far-left into the future, and the Republicans made it happen.”

The former Republican presidential candidate said that politicians will pay a price for Obama’s immigration plan.

“If there’s anything that’s been consistent politically, it’s the reaction of the American people to not grant amnesty to illegal aliens. That has been toxic for any politician who has made that their siren song,” Bachmann explained. “And so I believe that there probably will be a price to be paid for granting amnesty and all the benefits that go with it to illegal aliens by those politicians who granted it.”

Despite retiring from Congress, Bachmann is leaving the door open for a possible presidential run in 2016.

“I will be involved in 2016 one way or another,” Bachmann told “The Fine Print.” “I’m not going to go home and put a sock in my mouth; I’m going to continue to be involved in the national stage.”

Bachmann announced last year that she was retiring from Congress.
