McLEAN, Va. — Olympic figure skating medalist Nancy Kerrigan is scheduled to perform at a tree-lighting ceremony in Tysons Corner.
Kerrigan’s appearance Friday on the outdoor ice rink at Tysons Corner Center is the highlight of the Christmas-tree lighting ceremony at the mall’s new outdoor plaza, which links up to the Silver Line Metro station.
Democratic congressman Gerry Connolly will also participate in the tree lighting.
The ceremony begins at 5 p.m. It is preceded by a 3:30 p.m. concert by the a cappella group Pentatonix.
The ceremony corresponds with the opening of an outdoor German Christmas market.
