RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia-based law firm is helping clients deal with regulations relating to commercial unmanned aircraft systems commonly known as drones.
Hunton & Williams says it has formed the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Unit.
Officials say the practice is being launched in light of the emerging regulatory environment regarding drones and the broad scope of potential commercial uses for the firm’s clients.
The firm aims to assist clients with issues related to regulations and the rule-making processes of the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, as well as other state and federal agencies.
Hunton & Williams says the unit includes business, litigation and regulatory professionals. They will monitor and participate in the development of regulatory programs for drones and other unmanned systems.
