LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — The day before Veterans Day, a new report ranks D.C. one of America’s best cities for veterans.
The report from Wallet Hub measured data from the 100 most populated cities to find out how they support and provide benefits to the men and women who have served their country.
D.C. ranked number 14 on the list and received the top spot for the highest growth in veteran wages.
The number one ranking went to Lincoln, Nebraska, while the worst city for veterans is Newark, New Jersey.
Other factors include a city’s percentage of military skill-related jobs, the veteran unemployment rate, the percent of veterans living below the poverty line and the number of homeless veterans.
Baltimore was 91 in the overall list, but rated fifth best for the highest percentage of military skill-related jobs.
