WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — John Wall has reportedly accepted an invitation to attend USA Basketball’s training camp in Las Vegas next week, according to Marc Stein of ESPN, who reports the team has wanted Wall in camp for weeks.

Per Stein’s report, the delay in extending the invite to Wall was a matter of precaution, as the team wanted to ensure he was ready to devote himself “at full capacity” after an extended Wizards playoff run.

Other USA Basketball first-timers include DeMar DeRozan and Chandler Parsons.

Tryouts begin next week, after which the final 12-man roster will be decided upon in time for the inaugural International Basketball Association (FIBA) World Cup, which begins Saturday, Aug. 30 in Spain, to be played in six cities — Barcelona, Bilboa, Granada, Gran Canaria, Madrid and Sevilla.
