McLean, Va. (CBSDC) — Two teenage boys who attended Langley High School in McLean, Va., were found dead within a day of each other this week.

Police are not identifying the boys or confirming where they went to school but in a letter sent out to parents Wednesday, Langley High Principal Matt Ragone writes that “two very tragic incidents struck [the] school community.”

According to the letter, special counseling services are being made available to students and will continue to be made available in the days ahead.

The Fairfax County Police Department says officers responded to Scotts Run Nature Reserve, located at 7400 Georgetown Pike, for a body found in the park around 1:15 p.m. on Monday. Then around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Forestville Drive for a death investigation involving a dead body inside private residence.

Police say both were 17-year-old males and that foul play is not expected in either death. Investigators do not believe the cases are connected.

WNEW’s Kimberly Suiters reports that students wore all black to school Wednesday.

One student tells WNEW the boys both committed suicide. Posts on social media say the same, but police have not confirmed that at this time.
