WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Of all their differences, the one undeniable similarity that exists between the U.S. and Canada is the reality that Christmas is just around the corner.

With Dec. 25 fast approaching and Rob Ford making his weekly appearance on the Junkies on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C., the Toronto mayor was asked what Christmas gift he plans to get for his wife.

“Just money,” Ford laughed. “Women love money!”

“’And get perfume and dresses,” Ford went on. “You know, you give them a couple thousand bucks and they’re happy, so that’s [what I get my wife] and get some treats on the side obviously for her. But she says ‘I want cash, honey. I want cash.’”

“Do you put it in a nice Christmas card,” he was asked.

“Oh yea, yea, I get a basket and flowers and, you know, a little bit of this and that, but at the end of the day she wants her cash, so I give her a nice check and we’re all happy,” Ford said.

“What does she get you,” he was asked. “Has she asked you what you what you want for Christmas?”

“Oh, it’s always something to do with sports or politics, so she always surprises me,” Ford said. “I have a fantastic wife. But we’re going to go shopping for the kids. I have an eight-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son, so they’re just; they’re bouncing off the walls for Santa Claus to come.”

Ford, with an incredible 20-11-1 record picking NFL games against the spread, also made his weekly picks. Click here for his Week 16 picks.
