WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Prince George’s County Police have suspended an officer after he was charged with driving under the influence in Fairfax on Friday.
Police say Corporal Rodney Lewis was driving an unmarked cruiser on I-495 near the American Legion Bridge when he lost control and struck the jersey wall at 2:45 a.m.
Lewis – who was off-duty at the time and wasn’t acting in a law enforcement capacity – was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Lewis is a 12-year veteran of the department. He has been suspended with pay.
