WASHINGTON — A man who shot and killed a teenager minutes after meeting her in person for the first time after encountering her on a website has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Buckley of Washington pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed in the death of 18-year-old Siohban Lee of Takoma Park. He was sentenced Thursday in D.C. Superior Court.

According to the government’s evidence, Buckley and Lee met through a social website and eventually, exchanged phone numbers.

Lee agreed to meet Buckley for the first time early on Jan. 25 in northwest Washington. Prosecutors say Lee and Buckley met at 2:15 a.m. and at 2:30 a.m., he shot Lee once in the head. He took her iPhone and ran away, but was caught by police hours later.
