ASHBURN, VA (CBSDC) — Preparations for Sunday’s contest against the St. Louis Rams continued Thursday morning at Redskins Park.

Tight end Fred Davis says he’ll be ready for more opportunities if they come his way.

Meanwhile, veteran linebacker London Fletcher is hoping to improve on a few things over their first outing of the season.

There were no injury updates as of the afternoon. Wide receiver Pierre Garçon (foot) was the only player not practice yesterday.

Here is a sampling of what the Redskins had to say in the locker room.

Fred Davis: On the success Detroit Lions tight ends had against St. Louis Rams in Week One.

Definitely a guy like Calvin [Johnson] out of there, he’s a big play receiver… one of the top in the league. So, that definitely probably played to a lot of the defense they ran, double teaming him.

You don’t know what to expect. If that does happen for us I’m sure will be having those opportunities as well.

London Fletcher: What needs to improve this week?

We’d like to eliminate the big plays. We gave up that one touchdown on the 4th and 10, they were able to get the 33-yard touchdown against us. Those are things we go into each game … making teams earn everything they get.
