LEESBURG, Va. (CBSDC) — Two construction workers were injured when they fell off a roof at the Evergreen Methodist Church in Leesburg Monday afternoon.

The men fell approximately 30 to 40 feet to the ground when as many as 30 trusses collapsed around 12:30 p.m.

One construction work was momentarily pinned beneath the structure. He was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The second worker was taken to another hospital by ambulance. His injuries were also described as non-life threatening.

A third man working at the site at the time of the collapse was able to escape without injury.

Chip Geissler, the church’s pastor, said the building was to be the parish’s first. Since its inception in 1999 the church parishioners have been worshiping at various schools in the area.
