The Most Traffic: All-News 99.1 WNEW

FACT: The Washington area has some of the worst traffic in the United States.

FACT: Despite enhancements to major highways and improvements to mass transit, congestion will get worse in the years to come.

FACT: All-News 99.1 WNEW is the only radio station in Washington to deliver traffic reports every five minutes during rush hour.

Starting on Sept. 3, WNEW brings listeners “Your Beltway Fix on the 6” in addition to its signature “Traffic and Weather Together on the 1’s” reports.

The reports will focus on the Beltway, I-66, I-95, I-270 and other major arteries.

“Listeners want to get to where they’re going as fast as possible and they need accurate and timely information to do that,” said CBS Radio’s Senior Vice President and Market Manager Steve Swenson.

Lisa Baden and Julie Wright, two of the most trusted names in Washington gridlock, will anchor reports and help guide drivers through each bumper-to-bumper rush hour.

“The technology our traffic reporters have access to provides our listeners with an unparalleled level of precision,” said WNEW Program Director Robert Sanchez. “That, plus the increased number of reports means WNEW listeners will get vital traffic information five, even ten minutes before it’s available anywhere else on the radio.”

ONE LAST FACT: All News 99.1 WNEW will now have the most traffic reports on the radio with updates every five minutes during both drive times.
