Parking

There are a multitude of free parking spots, including covered garages, available at Reston Town Center. Parking spots may be accessed via Bluemont Way or Fountain Drive. Street entrances to parking lots include Freedom Drive, Library Street and Explorer Street. Reston Town Center is also accessible by the Fairfax Connector.

Food and Drinks

Dozens of area restaurants will entice you with their autumn-inspired brews and foods at this awesome Oktoberfest celebration. Enjoy traditional Oktoberfest beers and fare, including bratwursts, soft pretzels and pierogies, plus traditional American fare and drinks from nearby popular restaurants. Participating bars and restaurants include Flippin’ Pizza, Mama Lucia of Reston, Milwaukee Frozen Custard, Il Fornaio, Paolo’s Ristorante, The Counter Burger, Obi Sushi and Uno’s Chicago Grill. The festival will also feature the finest in domestic and craft beers including Dominion Octoberfest and Widmer Hefeweizen. Individual food and beverage tickets are required to sample foods and are available to purchase online.

Carnival and Cook-Off
Date: Oct. 5 to 7
Time: Fri – 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sat – 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sun – 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

No festival is complete without a carnival. The Pavilion at Reston Town Center transforms itself into a land full of fun rides, popular music and exciting games. See the center like you never have before atop the ferris wheel, try your luck at one of the many carnival games, or relive your childhood with a spin around the merry go round. The carnival will also feature dozens of other family friendly rides including a giant slide, an inflatable obstacle course and the Cliff Hanger, a popular carnival ride that resembles a hang glider. Tickets are required and available to purchase online or at the carnival. All You Can Ride wristbands are also available.

Head on over to the Guns ‘n Hoses Chili Cook-off where Fairfax County’s finest police officers and firefighters will woo you with their best chili recipes and compete for the title of “Overall Best Chili” and “People’s Choice.” The winner of the cook-off will be announced Saturday, Oct. 6.

Live Entertainment
Date: Oct. 5 to 7

In addition to featuring the area’s best food, drinks, and fun and games, Oktoberfest at Reston Town Center will also feature the area’s best live entertainment. Whether you prefer the sounds of traditional German music or the latest pop hits, the festival is sure to have something to satisfy your musical palette. Scheduled headliners include the uber-popular Gonzo’s Nose, a U2 tribute band known as 2U and a Journey tribute band known as Almost Journey. Traditional German music and dance will be performed throughout the day.

Great Pumpkin 5K Race
Date: Oct. 6
Time: registration starts at 6 a.m.; 5K start time – 8:15 a.m.

Oktoberfest at Reston Town Center will also feature the Anthem Great Pumpkin 5K, a race benefiting the Reston YMCA. Participants who place first, second and third will each receive a cash prize. The event will also feature a Pumpkin Smash Mile, a non-timed event in which participants may run, walk, hop or jog around Reston Town Center. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes with prizes awarded to those with the best costumes.

Kids Pumpkin Dash
Date: Oct. 6
Time: 10:30 a.m.

With the Kids Pumpkin Dash, the little ones will get the chance to run or walk and dress up in their Halloween best too. The Kids Pumpkin Dash will start at the official finish line of the Anthem Great Pumpkin 5K. Children 10 and younger may compete, and parents are encouraged to join their kids in the race. Each child will receive a race bib, ribbon and a pumpkin, which will be used in the pumpkin decorating contest after the race. Registration for the Kids Pumpkin Dash is limited to the first 1,000 entries.
