It’s been a long, hot summer and everyone is looking for opportunities to cool off. Heading to the pool, sucking on a popsicle and having a refreshing cocktail are all great ways to bring the heat factor down. Here is one more: indulging in a cold, sweet ice cream sundae. Below is a list of five of the very tastiest ice cream sundaes that you must sample while it’s still summer. Take your friends and family with you for a great sundae tasting outing!

DC’s favorite gelateria has some of the creamiest gelato in town, in the most unique flavors. Blood orange, lemon ricotta cardamom and strawberry tarragon are just some of the unusual flavors. While the gelato is amazing all on its own, this summer, Dolcezza introduced a series of sundaes, which are creative and divine concoctions using fresh, local ingredients and, of course, the famous gelato. Try the coffee and cookies, with the most intense espresso gelato, fresh whipped cream and crumbled cookie pieces, or the fruit pebbles, which features a scoop of sweet Indonesian vanilla bean gelato, topped with salty fried marcona almonds and candied orange and lemon zest. Both are bursting with flavor and texture. Other sundae options include a strawberry daiquiri, strawberry gnocchi and chocolate Mexicano.
