Looking for the best place to grab a cool treat on a hot summer day? Try any one of these great places.

Dickey’s Frozen Custard
1710 I St NW
Washington, DC 20006
(202) 293-7100
Not only is Dickey’s a great place to cool off with one of their delicious frozen custards, they have some of the best sandwiches in the city. A great place for lunch whether you’re sightseeing or sneaking away from the office to eat.
Cone E Island
2000 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20006
(202) 822-8460
A great ice cream spot just on the edge of the GWU campus, Cone E Island is notable not just for their tasty frozen treats but for their quick service and loud music. A favorite among GWU students and the younger crowd, Cone E Island is worth a shot if you are in the area and don’t mind taking a look in to the culture of their campus.
Dolcezza Artisanal Gelato
1704 Connecticut Ave NW
Washington, DC 20009
(202) 299-9116Arguably the best gelato in D.C. they have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Dolcezza not only makes fantastic ice cream, they are also noted for their coffee. So if you are looking for a caffeine kick or a cold dessert, Dolcezza is a great place to stop by.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop
3955 Chainbridge Rd. Suite 107
Fairfax, VA 22030
(703) 267-6095Another lunch type place but don’t stereotype Potbelly, they have some of the best milkshakes around. Potbelly has many locations in the area and if you are ever in the mood for a sandwich and a shake, this would be the place to go.

Cold Stone Creamery
5705 Burke Centre Parkway
Burke, VA 22015
(703) 250-3002This may be a chain but that doesn’t mean they don’t have good ice cream. Wherever you are, if you’re looking for a treat Cold Stone is a great option. Top notch service and treats, plus employees have to sing a goofy song when you drop anything in their tip jar!

Dolci Gelati has the most authentic gelato in DC. Come stop by the National Zoo or the Nats Ballpark for a taste!

Larry’s Ice Cream on Conn Ave is hand made. It is the best bar none. From Cleopatra with coconut and dates to Fred and Ginger ice cream.
